Cool con.

So I totally didn't get to practice my nutcrackers today mainly because I had to get my car fixed. Whatever. I've gotten a tennis match tmrw evening so I'm a thinking a morning session to focus on mainly footwork and nutcrackers. I'm gonna give my body a break from the power mainly because I can feel the injury in my left forearm and I'm not trying to fuck that up. Also I can feel my left oblique hurt even still as I'm typing this.

Things to keep in mind

Flare: Keep the arm out front...It gives me more control in terms of speed of the flares and especially coming around. Need to incorporate more hip movement!

Jacks: Spread and use your legs. Keep your arm out more for balance.

Airchair: Focus on finding balance and holding.

Things to focus on tmrw:

Footwork

Nutcracker/Windmill

I've already got mills so nutcracker shouldn't be too difficult. I will def. have to use a LOT of my legs though so I can keep the momentum though. Definitely need to hit the footwork HARD though cause style is critical for any bboy...Power is fine but style is what really allows you to express yourself. Will definitely be a fun practice if anything.

Cool

Yesterday's practice was curtailed due to some tennis events (I also play tennis), but that is perfectly fine. Quality over quantity any day. I practiced airchairs, 1990s, and airbabys and made some good strides. Let's run down the list.

Airchair:

I was able to hold an airchair for about 5 seconds which is pretty impressive. However, I want to be able to roll out of them more effectively and I also need to start piking them so I don't get used to holding it and then crashing. Don't want to develop any bad habits. I also want to increase the amount of variations I can do so flexibility is definitely key.

1990s:

I can currently get .5 of a rotation which is yet again pretty solid seeing how I was only planning on practicing monkey kicks. Now what I need to do is put my right hand out when I'm spinning and also tuck my head in closer to my left arm. Furthermore, I need to secure my handstand position before I start spinning (it makes sense when you see it on video). I suppose I could also push off on my right leg more for more power.

Airbabys:

The only issue is here is that I need more practice so I can find the balance. I've pretty much got it in the bag. The only thing I say here is that I should stab more in the tricep/bicep cross which seems to be the optimal balance point for me. Practice these every OTHER day...These shits hurt.

Goals for today:

Footwork

Airchair
1990s
Flares
Nutcrackers**

Toprock*

*Last priority

**Main priority out of the power

Note: Will be practicing flares on grass so that my wrists aren't as susceptible to injury

So, for today I want to work on the following...

Airchair
Airbaby
Elbow freeze
1 Handed handstands

Power:
